Capt. James Cohn
Capt. James M Cohn is the Commandant of Cadets. Prior to his arrival at Detachment 840, he Cohn was assigned to the 77 Aeromedical Systems Group, Brooks City Base, Texas. He was responsible as Chief of the Financial Management Branch, executing and planning $270 million for Air Force and Defense Health Program and analyst for the $300 million, ACAT I USTRANSCOM Regulating and Command and Control Evacuation System (TRAC2ES). He also served as the Financial Services Flight Commander, 437 Airlift Wing Charleston, S.C., where he was responsible for the command of 35 military and civilian technicians in three financial branches. He served as the primary customer service representative for all wing financial transactions, serving more than 8,000 customers, while advising commanders and base organizations on financial-related activities. He also served almost 13 years of enlisted service, 10 as an Aircraft Armament Systems Technician repairing the electronic warfare system and loading explosives on F-16s, and three years as a Field Training Instructor teaching weapons systems. He has associate degrees in Instructor Technology and Military Science and Aircraft Armament Systems Technology; bachelor of science degrees in business management and management of human resources; and a master of business administration in financial management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, Calif. His military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
