Maj. Kate Ritzel
Maj. Kate Ritzel is a professor of Aerospace Studies Detachment 840, Air Force Reserve Training Corps at Texas State. She graduated from Squadron Officer School and Air Command Staff College at Air University, Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL. She holds a bachelor of science degree with an emphasis on human behavior from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., and a master of science degree in psychology from Regis University in Denver. Since being commissioned, she has had an extensive career all over the globe, giving her a wide range of experience. She has been an Officer in Charge of the Hazardous Material Management Office and a Combat Operational Flight Commander at the 42d Supply Squadron Maxwell AFB, Ala. She has been a Combat Operations Flight Chief and a Maintenance Supervisor at the 25th Fighter Squadron Osan AB, South Korea. At the Logistics Wing NATO AB in Geilenkirchen, Germany, she served as the Logistics Management Branch Chief and the Executive Officer. She served as the Operations Flight Commander at the 367th Recruiting Squadron and the Joint Training Officer at NORAD and USNORTHCOM J72 in Colorado Springs, Colo. She has been spotlighted for being an “Outstanding Performer” as a trainer and continues to excel and enjoy training the cadets of Detachment 840.
